reflection:

Throughout this semester, I have learnt a lot of things from EPC class which lectured by Mr. Ridwan. Those lessons help to improve myself to a better presentor and get myself ready to become a future architect. Every occupation requires good communication skills which could be verbal or non-verbal. Thus, I really appreciate what have Mr. Ridwan taught me in this few months. He is friendly and enthusiastic. His class was always full of laughters as he sometimes could be very humour and hilarious. This made us not feeling boring throughout the lesson. If you question what have you learnt in EPC, I would say the importance of language. As Sapir- Whorf Hypothesis stated, our perception of reality is determined by our thought processes, our thought processes are limited by our language, therefore our language shapes our reality. In short, language is crucial!

Aside the lessons, the assignments also bring countless advantages for us. For the project 1, students were assigned to do photoblog which had to consist of 25 to 30 photos. We were supposed to travel within Klang Valley, but later we had granted the permission to go further than that. For my group, we went to Pulau Ketam with another group of friends which leaded by Theresa and Crystal. Although we were doing the same place, but we agreed with each other for not to plagiarise or copy each others' photos. This assignment helped us to improve photograpy skill, communication skill and also presentation skill. We had a whale lot of fun times there, and at the same we could take a break from the hustle of the city. I would like to express my greatest gratitude as this project brought me the opportunity to get closer with my fellow coursemates especially Chuan Kai, Yi Hui and Alison.

Moreover, for the next project we are assigned to do oral presentation. We were given four topic of choices and students had to further exlain and elaborate on the selected topic. I chose to do a traditional dwelling around the world. I found this topic very interesting. I had been doing research regarding the traditional dwelling in China. Finally, I decided to work on the Hakka TuLou. As a Hakka people, this place attracted my attention and without any hesitation I quickly worked on it. For the presentation requirements, I had to include the structure and layout of 'TuLou', type of ornamentations used, type of materials used and also the historical background. After doing this presentation, I feel like travelling to 'TuLou' has became a must-go-place in my future travelling plan.

In a nutshell, Effective Public Communication, in short 'EPC', is a fun subject in my foundation. It helps me to improve my presentation and communication skill in both verbal and non-verbal. I enjoy my time with the assignments and also thanks to Mr. Ridwan for being such an amazing lecturer. Love you!
