PROJECT 2: CONSTRUCTION DETAIL AND SPECIFICATION
This project is a continuation of the first project - an integrated project where it involves construction detailing solution for Project 3 in Architecture Studio 2. This project is designed to allow the demonstration of knowledge and understanding of construction and application from prior project. Emphasis in producing related manual construction drawing detail and specification. This assignment emphasizes on proposing details for certain sections of a building, both structural and architectural detailing. Students are required to identify and propose THREE (3) architectural/ structural details for the selected element or part of the building apart from providing the necessary plans, section and elevations. The 3 details must use TIMBER or STEEL or COMPOSITE MATERIAL and it should cover the following designs in your studio project:
1) Roof
2) Superstructure (wall/slab/staircase etc.)
3) Joint and connection

REFLECTION:
Throughout this project, I am able to develop an understanding of the structural elements in construction and its application in the construction industry. I can apply suitable construction elements, material and detail/joint solutions suitable for a specific design. I also able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of build ability. Moreover, I also can demonstrate awareness of how buildings are developed in response to practical considerations. I also improve to certain levels of manual drawing and sketching skills. I gain more understanding and knowledge of construction, material and technology.
