PROJECT 1:
CLASSIFICATION OF BUILDING MATERIALS
This project is designed as an introduction to building materials that are commonly used in the construction industry. The exercise aims in helping the students to explore and understand the materials in terms of its characters, properties and impacts it give to building designs and its environment.

Students are required to select a local or international Architect, together with their buildings. Selection of architects and buildings can be in any particular time or age.
​
Students are required to produce an presentation A2 board consisting the architect’s background, concept of building and explanation about the building materials. Plans, elevations and sections of the building with complete annotation on the types of materials used mainly for the flooring and walls. The drawings are
to be manually drawn.

REFLECTION:
Throughout the assignment, I am able to dentify the types of materials used in building designs. Nest, I also can figure out the suitability of materials in building design such as its advantages and disadvantages. I am able to identify the characteristics of materials. Last but not least, I learn to create presentation boards by using photoshop and team up well with others.
