project 2a: 3d exploration

Students are assgined to form a group of 5. I remained the previous group as we found that we could cooperate with each other well. The project is about the translation of 2D drawing into a 3D artworks. Sounded fun and interesting, right? The 1st process is to develop the 2D elements such as simple geometric shapes that best reflect the given wordas drawings and eventually extrude it as planes using model boards. The second stage, the best 2D ideas from the first stage will then go through a 3D process using dry polystyrene and brown cardboard box. The 3rd stage students are required to use different type of materials of their choice to make the selected 3D that best reflects the word. Students also assigned with an architect and have to apply the styles of the architect in the 3D artworks.

reflection:

Throughout the project, we realised that translating 2D into 3D is difficult. We learnt to apply keyword in design. We also have more understanding on the design elements and principles. Also, we are able to apply the style of Antoni Gaudi which is to insert nature element in built environment. Last but not least,  we learn that health is wealth. Not to get sick before submission as half of group members get ill the day before submission. Anyway,  design is the best!
