project 1A: the 10th artworks
To be a good designer or architect, it is crucial for you to understand the design elements and design principles. This is our very first project for design class. It gives us opportunity to explore the design world and also to build a strong foundation for us before step into the world of architecture. Project 1A is about knowing the basic design elements through observing nature and built environments by sketching the apparent and concealed design elements in nature.

Before we get started with our sketching process, we have to explore our surroundings. We have to find 4 nature and 4 built environment items with different design elements which are lines, shapes, hue and pattern.

Throughout the project, design is not a easy task but it is fun.
I learnt to recognize and identify design elements and design principles. I also able to apply the design elements and design principles in simple projects. It gives me the opportunity to learn the design process and design components such as sketching, drawing conventions,observation, investigation and production of presentation. I can form a comprehensive understanding of the basic principles, elements and design process at anappropriate level.
